Default UPDATE #40...The Beast returns from Paint..Adam Boca's Scheme Comes To Life. PICS

DISCLAIMER: I will be the first to agree the car looks a little plain in it's current state.

The red accent stripping has not been added yet, nor any other decals.

I thought of waiting to show the final scheme as that is when it will look best. Everyone has been so supportive I figured I would share these new pics as most realize this painting is not complete.

The history is in these threads:

The CF dashboard, CF headlight inserts and suspension parts are on deck. I'm hopeful the car will be complete in 3 weeks just in time for opening season! Boy, feels like Deja Vu!

A very big thank you to Adam Boca as he laid out these colors from the LG Claudio Burton car and offered me numerous paint schemes, many which were never shown.

Many have already seen this template:

Time for the real thing! Here are a few pics as of Today!

The wing has the wrong rake in it right now as it was just affixed for transportation. It is sitting way to high.

There have been a few subtle changes which I will point out once all is complete.

I'll post some interior shots of the new CF dash and suspension shortly.

It's going to be fun getting her all dirty again soon! Go easy on me as I get reacquainted with her.

That is amazing!

Nice job on the paint design (and of course, excellent execution).

I don't care for it Plus it looks like they did the part where the black swoops up accross the door handle differently than the design. It looks more abrupt.

I'm sure it'll look better with the accents etc.

Car looks much too fast. I was thinking something in more subtle earth tones.

But seriously folks, smoooookkkkkiinnnnnn!

Once the red trim accents are on on this baby it's going to be "over the top".

Well done!

I don't know, Mike. The paint scheme looks good, BUT... aren't we adding too much weight with all that paint?

No such thing as a minor detail....good eye!

I am running Brembo GTR Monobloc Brakes. They have a distinctive gold looking caliper. I'll see what I can do about turning them red once on track!

Coming along nicely Mike! It will look great when you complete the painting/decaling. Looking forward to seeing it this summer.

Car looks great Mike and the details will make her come alive for sure! I see that the end plates on the wing are black - will they stay black or become yellow like the template?

It's tough looking at a 2-dimensional picture versus an actual photo. Also, the windshield/rear lexan will offer more flow with it's new border (never shown yet). The wheels are filthy and right now the eye is attracted to the shiny part of the car. When it's complete you will not be focusing on the specifics that grab you right now. The stripping will soften it all up.

Thanks for sharing, there is no right or wrong when it comes to subjectivity!

Thanks Tom!

Everybody made many jokes about painting it pink or lime green with polka dots. Can you imagine being passed by something that looked like that?

Looks great Mike. Good job Adam.
I will take the liberty of commenting on a minor error in the translation from Adam's paper to the actual car. The yellow/black line now goes through the handle but hits the top of the fender too far forward of the rear wheel. Not as flowing as the original drawing. The "haunches" look too squared off. Just my .02

Frank,

Thanks buddy....just like a golfer, I'm going to need plenty of excuses!

Q "Mike, that AMC Pacer just smoked you around the track."

A "Yea, but I have all this extra weight to carry around now."
