Default UPDATE #29...The final touches are being put in place. She'll be free soon....PICS!!

Most of the work that is left will not produce significant visual changes, aside from the completed body. The car has brakes, but the ABS module has to be calibrated. The dash panel will have the remaining switches in it shortly, which will then be sent out to be molded in CF....right now it's a temporary AL template. It's hard to bend CF but you can certainly mold it easily.

The history is in these threads:

Here are a few pics from today which really are the final stages of building the car.

The rear hatch has been fitted and is ready to be pinned down.

There have been many stages of this project that required tedious and lengthy labor. Here's one: The rear Lexan (as the front) comes in a big sheet. It then has to be cut and fitted perfectly. This is a time consuming process.

Below is the rear fascia. The tail-lights have been mounted as well as the trans and diff coolers.

These are two separate units.

Just as the rear Lexan is now being fitted, the front is done. It needs a few more screws which will be put in after all the dash work is complete. The view will not be this blurry as there is still plastic protecting the Lexan from scratches

The hood has been pinned and fit and finish came out nice.

We fired her up again today just to listen. This thing shakes and rumbles like no tomorrow. I'd love to just once take this thing on the street and pull up to a stoplight.

I expect to have this on the track next week for initial shake down.

It is also my intention to bring this car to the Performance Build Open House July 23rd where engine maker Henry Rose will see his creation.........on Katech steroids!

I know these may not be the most stunning pictures, but I'm still trying to capture most steps of the build and sometimes they are not as exciting as others. Thank you all for your support!

Now that you mention it, I had to look twice to make sure!

I don't care what speakers would fit in this car, there is no way you would ever hear them!

from a previous post, but...how come the fuel cap is on the passenger side instead of the stock drivers side? oh, and this whole project is a top notch operation.

The CF body has no specific cut-outs for the fuel door. The filler door was placed on the opposite side because of the way the fuel cells were plumbed.

Here's a previous pic:

The far right piece is clear so you can see the fuel delivery.

That mini version looks hella cool! Don't worry about being slow with it, Mike's car was in pieces for quite a while too.

Can't wait to see it finished.

The fuel door is on the right as most Pits allow for right side fueling nearest the pit wall, not left side fueling as in the street car.

Just ONCE take it on the street?!?!

I say throw some plates, sticky street tires, and a clutch that would last for the 4000 mile trip on it and run it in One Lap of America 2008.

simply amazing!

even more amazing is that this project is going into it's 9th month and is almost complete! Some guys are without cars for much longer and didn't build an entire chassis-up monster.

But, there is NOTHING ELSE you can do that can compare with the throttle response in the last segment. Wicked, wicked, WICKED throttle response. That did it for ME!!!!
