Default UPDATE #24..The Car Is Days Away From Being Tuned On The Dyno. PICS !!!

The next 1 or 2 updates should include all the bodywork. Under the hood is just about done. Brake lines are being finalized. The car is scheduled for tuning next week on the dyno. Hopefully we'll be able to squeak out a few more HPs with the MoTec Engine Management.

The history is in these threads:

The Dashboard will be filled with CF which will house all the race car switches. You can see some of it replacing the vents now.

This hood is the actual C6R paint formula!

Next week I finally get to hear what this thing will sound like. I will try to video it, but we all know how sounds come across camera mics and I do not have professional capturing equipment.

Fingers are still crossed for VIR but getting it running and having it completed seem so far apart right now.

Next week showed prove very interesting!

Have a great weekend!

NO! I got beat to being the first post in the series of great threads

Thanks for the pictures! I bet you've had to do A LOT of homework on designing the car down to the smallest detail.

Mike,
I know how busy my boring life is with just a jeep, pickup, couple of bikes, a Z06 and a cat. I can’t imagine what yours is like but we appreciate the time and effort you put into posting the information and pictures on this car. Now get it done and get out there and kick ***...... and keep posting.......

Will there be another guessing game with a prize for the numbers that the car gets on the dyno?

This is very funny, I know exactly what you're talking about!

I did quite a bit of research before and during this project. I've never been mechanically inclined but always loved learning how to use new tools. A great deal of help came from firstly Adam Boca who I still blame for all this, Katech, Pratt & Miller, The GM Corvette Team, many members here on the forum, and of course mostly my shop.

Mike,

I'm trying pal. If I can run your car in case this one isn't ready it might be more doable!

I think there would be too many variables to make that too difficult.

My shop uses a dyno that isn't marketing friendly. They use it to tune, not to sell stuff, so the numbers would be on the lower end.

I will post the dyno numbers and mention whether MoTec picked up a few or not. It will be hard to get an exact comparison from the industry standard of Katech's dyno.

The stock dashboard will be used more as a template. The Speedo opening will be the home for the MoTec display. The Radio/NAV cutout will host all the switches for the car. Everything else will be filled with CF. It will not be so obvious when it's done. I wanted that part of the car to remain so there's no mistaking what you're inside of!

See, it will be mostly stock!

I'd imagine! It takes a lot to put a car together from scratch, even moreso for a race car! No wonder it takes a small group of engineers to build a car: I'm trying to teach myself eletrical theory and automotive electrical use and it's a headache.

Thanks again for the pictures and I have a feeling I'll be seeing your car in a few magazines soon.

Looking great Mike. It's official . . . you win!

BTW - my car won't be out of the body shop for 3-weeks, so just leave the keys to the ZO6 on the shifter boot, I'll make sure to fill it with gas when I'm done!

I really hope you are ready because I'm looking forward to seeing the monster come alive. However, if you're not ready in time, I've got you covered on this one. All my mods are done - 4 Hoosiers and a corner weighted by Danny Popp. (No photos though)

One of the real challenges of this project was to orchestrate all the vendors to supply the parts on time. It is not a deep inventoried industry.

As far as your electrical theory, all you need to know is this:

"220, 221 whatever it takes!"

It seems like yesterday that your car was on those same lifts getting dissassembled.
