PICS----UPDATE #4---The most revealing shots yet, she is down to the bone!---PICS !!!
There really isn't much more they can remove. There are a few items like the trunk mechanism you can see from the straight on shot, and a few wires.
I am now able to lift (realisticly, more like rock) the front end off of the rack.
I carried my stock seats to my truck. I couldn't believe how much they weighed. My guess is I'll shave 80-100 pounds right there.
The history is in these threads:
First Post
My Z06 will no longer be my fastest car, but it's still my favorite
Second Post
PICS UPDATE #1: The LS2-LS7 Swap Race Car Project PICS !!!
Third Post
PICS UPDATE #2: PICS Update #2 Bye Bye LS2... Make way for the LS7PICS !!!
Fourth Post
PICS...UPDATE #3...Hopefully it will look like a Corvette again. PICS!!!
Here are a few more shots.
Without the clutch and brake pedals, it's tough to even know what you're looking at.
If anybody has any questions, please fire away!

Are you writing a new manual based on a complete teardown and rebuild?
It might have been easier to order a new Vette, and just tell them to put all the parts in a box instead of assembling it?
Just kiddin, good luck with the project.

One cool thing is this process can sure show how much stuff goes into a street car. Well in Mikes case comes out of a street car.
If you ever want to know why so much money. Here it is.

The cage will be quite secure. I hope it ends up a complete waste of money by never being tested!

I hope you know how to put this car back together.......I've always found it's easy to take a car apart, but getting it back together again.......................well........ .....

This car will never see the street again. Why go through it? It will be a race car primarily for my own enjoyment.

How great is it to build a car to your own specs (not just a sanctioning body's limits), drive it how you want to and know that it is built to be as safe as a NASCAR stocker? Plus you can test any parts on it YOU want to.
