It's Time To Stop Playing Games...UPDATE #16...Carbon Fiber Body Moldings...PICS !!!
Realizing this car powered by Katech's LS7 is going to be stupid fast, the body is very important. Aside from keeping this car on the track, we also want to keep it on the ground.
The history is in these threads:

UPDATE #15...Dream Brake/Clutch Pedal Assembly...Steering Wheel Rack...PICS !!!
Most of the body panels came in. We're waiting on the CF doors.
After talking with many race teams, we feel we found the right product for this car. Although the parts may have some similarities to some you have seen, these are the newest pieces being used by a WCC team right now. They have proved to hold up better than some of the street/race versions out there now. I guess time will tell.
Here are some of the first pics of how this monster will appear.
Here's a shot of the rear quarter with a nice fat lip. That's a mock seat in there temporarily.
This splitter will help create the needed downforce. Yes, it's also Carbon Fiber.
Here you can see one of the side skirts. They integrate with the rear quarter and extend the body very close to the ground.
The pedal assembly I showed last post is being about fitted. That V looking bracket holding the steering column will be removed and replaced with a bracket on the top of the roll cage pictured.
If all goes as planned ( ) the car should go to paint by the end of next week.
Since this is purely for fun, I don't want to cover the car in the standard race garb with supplier stickers. I want a simple but aggressive paint scheme. I'd love to hear your suggestions! Save room for the name Katech somewhere.

First I have to say, thanks for sharing I like the idea of not plastering stickers all over it your right, its for fun, so why plaster advertisement stickers all over it.
As far as paint goes, I would be different than anyother one out there, but still look good. I have always liked the Goodwrench Black and Silver that the C5-R was when they first came out. http://gpma.org/Archive/msc5r.html And going waaay back to the GTP Corvette, it was also Black, Silver and white. http://www.z06-corvette.com/super/gtp.htm
Today you see all the factory colors running around, but not the Black and Silver Mr. Goodwrench colors. It would be one of a kind looking, and without all the stickers...AWESOME
Whatever you choose, it will be an incredible car to look at and drive.

How cool is that? I love it!
Any colors you pick will be cool I'm sure, but you have to keep the base yellow out of respect for your your Z06. After that it's just a matter of much you want it to stand out graphically. It's literally a blank canvas right now. Most of us would probably do one or two extra colors, but you could always style it after a drag car from the early seventies and have 40 or 50 colors and 100 lbs. of paint. Maybe you could ask a graphic designer in your area if they want to do something current. Anyway I bet choosing the final "look" will be as much fun as the build has been.

p.s. I like the carbon body parts too.

Jim, I'm going to need a bit more help than that!
Nothing like the international mating call for racing!
Dan, no more Dr. Seuss for you! You're going to start talking like that 24/7.

I must admit my favorite color schemes on the C6R is the black and silver. I really want something unique.
