Default UPDATE #38...How To Change Your Tires & Swap Your Brake Pads In Ten Minutes! PICS!!!

Hi Gang!

Happy New Year!

Quick recap......

The Beast ran strong late last season despite never being set up for the track once it left the shop's rack. There were many things that were not completed because I didn't want to lose driving time with our short season here. The Beast is getting prepped for the upcoming season which includes items that were not installed last year, plus new mods to upgrade certain areas.

The history is in these threads:

Below are pictures of the air jacks that have just been installed. This was a planned mod from day one. We tested many different brands that were different sizes and weight to find the right solution.

These things are just simply cool!

They run on Nitrogen because a very high PSI is required.

When the jacks are extended, these braces are used to lock the car into place, then the nitrogen nozzle can be removed from the car and work can be performed.

I had most pieces anodized and will post more pics of that soon.

The Beast will be ready by early March including a new paint job! I will post more shortly as things take shape.

Looking forward to seeing many you at the track this year!

Anyone interested in putting these on your Z06?

Mike,

Just one more thing to tinker with in the paddock as an excuse so I don't have to run up against you!

They sure will!

It would be a pretty neat display at the local gas station as your filling up! You would put those low riders to shame!

Mike,

Looks good. I hope to see you at your track sometime this summer.

August 9th is the race at Road America so we can plan something then.

Again, it looks really good.

Damn Lou,

I had a chance against you with your crappy WC tires...we'll set something up....I may put you in one of our instructor cars that has 4 doors!

The NCM event follows immediately afterwards at Road America!

Cool Mike........I guess this means we can expect to see you in events long enough to be wearing out a lot of tires before the day is done.

My tuner had them installed on the five GT3 Cup cars he was running last year. I never thought about putting them on the street/track car...

Would they fit on a (slightly ) more stock vehicle? Are they welded to the frame or is there a bracket?

Being able to pull the wheels that easily would probably improve safety since it would happen more frequently to check brakes , ect.

Foosh,

Actually I put these in so my tires wouldn't flat spot in the winter!

Dean,

They are welded to the frame along with custom brackets. It is no question a luxury item that leads to easier safety checks. Installing them on a Z06 could be done. A good fabricator is obviously a requirement.
