I've never had a car with a modified exhaust...

I've never had a car with a modified exhaust before, so when I put the Magnaflows on my car, I had what I thought to be horrible resonance.

Then I realized what I was hearing was all the loose...

Re: If you met your C4's previous owner, what would you do to him/her? (CentralCoaster)

I can't do much of anything, I bought it from my parents!!

At the time, I thought it was a good deal: $10.5K for a '92 w/87K miles. Bought it in '01. There were several $$$ problems that made it...

Re: DIAMOND CUT HEADLAMPS and other light upgrades (dizwiz24)

I've been reading his stuff on the rec.autos.* newsgroups for a while. That guy knows his stuff. Switching to that setup has been on my wishlist for a while.

Re: "Service Ride Control" light on DIC... (94redrag)

I have a '92. It does light up when I first start the car and then goes out a few seconds later.

Re: Newer Owner 'stupid' questions (dabird)

The horn itself may be fine, the contacts in the steering wheel may very likely be the problem.

Re: Z06 Wheel owners....in here (TM-96CE)

I'm running 17"x9.5" on all four corners, which are the stock sizes for a '92. IIRC, the tires are 275-40's.

Re: Sumitomo HTRZ tire opinions? (Orlando85UCFvette)

I had them on my car, replacing older Goodyear tires. The Sumitomos lasted about 15K / 1 year. That was as a daily driver, with occasional hot-dogging.

I can't comment on much else, because I...

Re: Official reference for clutch squeek / GM fluid? (bogus)

Thanks. Now that I'm home, I was able to pull out the service manual for my car ('92 LT1 coupe) and check in there for references. This is what I found:

In the section for bleeding the clutch...

Official reference for clutch squeek / GM fluid?

Hi. I've read on here about using the GM P/N 12345347 clutch fluid. I was wondering if there is a specific TSB or offical GM recommendation for this?

Thanks!

Re: Service Ride Control (We Gone)

$200? Wow! Around here, the dealer wants $600 for each FX3 shock. I'm not kidding! (~$600/shock and ~$600/actuator).

Re: Service Ride Control (lbitp37)

I can tell you if you go to the Chevy dealer, you are talking in the area of $600 for the part alone. If you have them do the work, they'll hit you for another ~$180 labor.

Thanks for sharing that. Seriously. It's a good reminder of precautions to take when doing this kind of work!

Re: Magnaflow Mufflers (longhorn_vette96)

I had my Magnaflows installed on my '92 last Monday. I've noticed the same resonance at light throttle Unfortunately I was only able to drive the car a little bit on Monday and Tuesday.

Did you...

Re: Which exhaust is louder- magnaflow mufflers of flowmaster catback (McShagger)

After all of the positive reviews of the Magnaflows, I've ordered them & will be stopping by the shop next week to have them installed.

Re: high third brake light on a late model ala ZR1 (1996man)

Stylistically, I'd say no. Either have a high-mounted light or a low-mounted light, but not both.

Of course that's only my opinion, which is less than worthless.

Re: Wife's first drive... (efweber)

I wish I could get my wife to drive the 'vette. I've had my 92 for a little over two years and she still won't take the time to learn to drive it. :(

Re: Got the Z06 wheels on my car (Ski2Tee)

Hi Everyone!!!

I haven't been ignoring this thread; my house lost power from Isabel (no damage to the house, just no power) and the power is still out (posting this from work).

Again, thanks...
