Default Wife's first drive...

I've had my 1984 Corvette for almost a year now, and I have put a fair amount of money and time into it. I bought it pretty cheap, and it runs a lot nicer now than when I first got it, so although it is no show winner, I am proud of the car, and enjoy the heck out of it. It was beautiful here in Maine today, so my wife and I went for a drive. I drove for the first 10 or so miles, and even got a wave out of a C5 driver. Then I pulled over and told my wife it was her turn. She looked at me like I had 3 heads, but didn't argue too much. She wanted to stay in the parking lot, but I told her no, she should take it on the open road. She warmed up after a few minutes and had some fun, and also got a wave from a fellow C4 driver! All in all it was a great drive, and now my wife can't say I never let her drive my baby.

Good for the Mrs! Mine has driven my vette for a block and a half. Does not like to ride in it, hard to get into, it's " too low, too loud and too fast." Just the way I like it! :D

:iagree:

I can't make my mom drive mine. She says she hates the manual transmission, etc. Nevermind she drove a manual for 18 years.......

Jeanne drives our Vette as much as she wants, I guess seeing as how she bought it I pretty much have to let her. She really enjoys driving it and doesn't kitty foot around either :auto:

Mine can. I don't let her in the left seat. She's a pothole/roadhazard/flying-rock-off-a-dump-truck magnet. If there's a roofing nail in the roadway within 10 square miles she'll find it, home-in, and run over it. Overloaded dump trucks leaking gravel seek her out and pull in front of her. Any old chuckhole will do, but she prefers the ones deep enough to expose the rebar. But I still loves her ;)

I wish I could get my wife to drive the 'vette. I've had my 92 for a little over two years and she still won't take the time to learn to drive it. :(

My wife used to drive my 87 vert, but she will not drive my ZR-1. Ive had it about a year now... she said she is afraid of it!
I still want her to take it sometime... what I might do is leave one morning with both sets of keys for her car... then she will have to take the Z! :)
