Re: Q-jet carb for BB? (mountainmotor)

If you only need 750 cfm than there is nothing better than a Qjet. If you need more try a bigger vac sec carb. 850DPs are not good street carbs.

Re: Ignition switch defeats it's purpose (Jim Shea)

Jim my 79 acted just like shotguns you didn't need to press the lever to get the key out. A change of the lock cured the problem. You must now push the lever to get the key out.

Re: Chevy BB Crate Engine, 572 ci/620 hp (flood)

I don't know of anyone that tried to stuff a tall deck in a Corvette but I bet it is a complete fab job. The bellhousing is the same as are the motor mounts but everything else is different.

Re: Ignition switch defeats it's purpose (shotgun_000)

My 79 did that for about a year then the switch locked and the only way I could turn it off was to disconnect the batt. If you have a std column it's not to bad otherwise I would find a set of...

Blonde in 61

I was just comming back from Costco ans saw a blonde with a ponytale driving a red 61 with the top off. It's been a long time since I have seen anything like that. Kinda makes you feel young again.

Re: Okay...I've got the 200-4R...and I'm gonna do it! (Jvette73)

Definately keep us posted. I have a trans and a 79 with 3.55s that could definately use the OD. I am assuming the trans mount is the same between the 350 and 400 just two different sets of holes.

Re: Some Yahoo's should not be alowed to drive vettes..... (GDaina)

The wife and I were going to the machine shop in the old Nova wagon. As I started into the off ramp on HWY4 a Volvo passed me in the off ramp. Really pi$$ed me off, by the time I got to the bottom of...

Re: Anyone running a aluminum flywheel? (Stingy74)

I used one in my 66 with a crate L-88 and 4.56s it sort of worked. The first time I had the clutch out it went and a 40lb steel wheel went in.

Re: How many of you have drilled holes in your Q-Jet Primary butterfly valves? (KJL)

If you disonected the acc. pump and the stumble went away you don't need holes you need to file the edge of the throttle blades so the more of the transfer slot is showing. The problem you are having...

Re: PRO STREET/ DRAGSTERS (Neo Fender)

The lever is the brake they don't have room for a foot brake. Yes they have a clutch pedal but the trans is shifted without using it.

Re: It Appears I've Screwed Up This Tranny Install! (rreavis)

If you start it in neutral with the clutch out the noise can't be the clutch. It could be broken in two and it wouldn't matter. Was the fork on the ball correctly? is the linkage itself broken? It...

Re: 200R4 update...smiles a mile wide (pats406nitrovette)

Re: A few Q's. Q-jet, re-jet, Bigger valve heads, running rich, and emissions. (bigvette1)

Heads will make no difference in jetting. What do you mean by the power valve thing? Your carb has an adjustable power piston if not installed correctly you can end up with a very rich condition.

Re: Big Block Heads (tiresmokin75-427)

The raised exhaust ports flow 30cfm more than the standard port location with out any work. Figure out a way to make the side exhaust work.

Re: What to do with a 283? (14-Paul)

Don't bore it .125 it's not worth the trouble. .060 works much better. A 1.94 head is as big as you want to go. keep the cam timing on the mild side and it will run very well. Just remember it...

Re: Cylinderhead flow experts ...your help is needed here !!!! (JAKE)

What are you doing with the engine? That is a lot of head for anything that doesn't have 5.38 gears and only makes 1/4 mi trips.

Re: Ls6 heads? (DEAD EYE)

The 291 head (the real LS6 head) has a raised intake floor so that it is superior to any previous head. I can't comment on the 990 I have never had any on a flow bench. The exhaust on iron heads is...
