Your noise is mostly from the pads but rotor surface can cause noise issues too.

It is still insured but, collision is suspended for period you tell them it's off the road. Rate is at least 1/2 of full (on the road) coverage.

I agree, bought my CTS-V in '09 and '11 GS last fall...sold CTS-V this spring. CTS-V is an incredible machine, great for moving 4 people fast but, is heavy compared to the Vette.
