Your noise is mostly from the pads but rotor surface can cause noise issues too.

GS has the bigger Z06 brakes, Z06 suspension, Z06 tires/wheel size, Z06 wide body style, and on manual trans you get a dry sump motor with battery in trunk.

It is still insured but, collision is suspended for period you tell them it's off the road. Rate is at least 1/2 of full (on the road) coverage.

I agree, bought my CTS-V in '09 and '11 GS last fall...sold CTS-V this spring. CTS-V is an incredible machine, great for moving 4 people fast but, is heavy compared to the Vette.
