I have the chrome wheels on my GS. I use Griot's Chrome Wheel Cleaner and the brush like Auto Geeks. I also use a white brush that was part of griot's wheel cleaner kit. I do this every time I wash the car. Also use chrome polish or metal polish and wheels stay pretty good.

Rejex or Armor-All Wheel Protectant makes cleaning easier but, I gave up on cleaning.

Instead I put on Hawk HP+ pads, that actually make more/pure black dust, and a new set of matching Centennial black wheels.
With dust/wheel color matching, clean or dirty they look the same!

Soap and water, sponge, Daytona brush after each ride. Electric leaf blower and small Micro fiber towel. Put car away, and repeat often.

I also have this problem. I have used Rejex on them and wipe them down every week. Do a full cleaning of the wheels about every three weeks. Ceramic brake pads will help reduce the brake dust, but I am not ready to replace them until they are worn out.

There is no magic solution for you.

Between full up wheel washing every couple months or so, I wipe the chrome wheels off when they are cool after each drive with a damp paper towel sprayed with a couple spritzes of Mothers car detailer.

The repeat often thing is the key. I can drive my car 50 miles and if I've had considerable stop and go they'll be filthy. I just clean with a damp microfiber cloth then dry with another microfiber. As far as the barrels go, I took a long paint stick and glued two sponges to it. This skinny tool will get into the back of the barrels with soap and water and works great but once a year in the winter I'll pull each wheel and give them a real good cleaning.

I use Sonax, it works very very good. Just spray it on and wait a few minutes until it turns the recomended color and hose off with just water. It cleans everything just like new without even touching the wheel. It removes all the brake dust.

That is EXACTLY right. I've tried everything there is and the best you can get without changing the pads is 3 days or so before the wheels get dirty again.

Bottom line is change pads or just clean the wheels and tires every other day.

keep a coat of Rejex on them and wipe them down after a drive.
Takes 5 minutes to wipe them all clean with a dry cloth

Used a Daytona Brush, and now Wheel Woolies, but also switched to Carbotech ceramincs. The dust is not a problem anymore at all.

Would you recommend Wheel Woolies over Daytona brush?
Getting into the barrels especially on the fronts is a real PITA!

I just use a damp micro fibre towel. Takes only a few minutes. I'm hoping GM makes ceramic pads for the GS

Armor All Wheel Protectant works very well on my polished rims though I only treat the exterior. I find it does not work that well on painted rims and don't know what it does on chrome.

Rejex, California wheel duster.

Occasionally an old face towel with a spriz of glass cleaner.

Sometimes pressure wash rinse.

They do get into smaller areas, but never found the Daytona Brushes to miss spots on Vette wheels specifically.

The thing that made me switch to the Wheel Woolies is they don't splatter. When you squeeze the Daytona brush in between the wheel barrel and the brake caliper and then pull it out, the bristles whip back straight and fling all that nasty dirty water back in your face.
