Most of the 70 or 75 cars I've owned were convertibles including my first car and my first new car. In the 60's and 70's they were mostly sports cars because I did a lot of racing {SCCA} and auto...

I agree. My Z4 M40i has a H-K system and it's much better than the Meridian in my last three Jaguars or the Bose systems I've had in other cars.

The other side of the coin. I owned a 2008 and 2012. Although my ownership of the cars overlapped, I had the 2008 for 4 years and the 2012 for 4 1/2. Other than oil changes once a year, I never had...

It certainly looks more modern and up-to-date than any Corvette I've ever owned, but my latest is a 2012 C6.

Back in 1964 I bought a red Lotus Elan, the first year in the US, and when I was in my mid-twenties, it was great. It had the 140 HP engine, four speed, no radio, and no power anything. I loved it on...

Interesting to read about people having problem with their Corvettes. I've had four [2002, 2004, 2008, and 2012] in the last 16 years. The only problem with any of them was a seeping oil pan gasket...

I've used Summer PS's on seven of my last eight cars with no problems. Of course, we don't have much of a winter here in Georgia.

I for one am delighted that the C8 does not have Start-Stop. my F-Type R has it and it resets after each engine shut down. I always forget to turn it off when I start the engine until I get to the...

I couldn't care less if they offer a manual or not. With today's auto's, like the ZF8 in my F-Type, and DC transmissions they are no longer relevant, IMO. I certainly would personally never own one.

I've owned four Corvettes, two 2004 C5's, and a 2008 and 2012 C6's [still have a C6]. I loved three of them. I have always been a convertible guy with over half of my 55 or 60 cars being conv's...

So what! My 1964 Lotus was 2000 pounds less, but I wouldn't trade a C8 or even my C6 for it today. BTW, what's the pounds per HP on the Alfa?

You can subtract at least 1 from that 40K figure. I wouldn't take a manual if they offered it for a big discount over a DC or a really good auto like the ZF.

I certainly don't care. I've never carried a golf bag, hockey stick, or a fishing pole. As I said in another post, if it will hold my credit card, I'M HAPPY.

At 74 I had my SLK55 AMG at Road Atlanta for 20 laps and turned 155 on the back straight. At 75 it was my silver 2012 slightly modified C6, and it did 162. Had to fabricate a roll bar for that one....

Well, I still have three years of factory warranty on the JAG, so I'll probably keep it at least that long. However, it might have to share the garage with a C8 in the next year or two.

Thanks! I still have my silver C6 and may be in the market for a trade to the C8 in a year or two. The DCT isn't a deal killer for me, but I plan to keep the F-type R either way. In the last 15 or so...
