Does anyone know if the C8 has "Stop/Start" engine control?

I have it on my Jeep GC and hate it! You go to pull out and cut someone off and the dam-thing shuts the engine off...you miss your opportunity! In NJ if you cant get split second jump on someone you'll be behind him/her...unacceptable!

General answer here. Not all OEM’s do it the same. On my Porsche, it does stay off through shutdown and restart . On my Audi, once you turn off the car, it re-enables and you have to turn it off again for every restart.

On my previous Cadillac 2016 CTS and current 2019 XT4 you have to turn the function off every time you start the car, on the XT5 there was not a disable switch, therefore I did not want it! I hated the damn auto shut off function, it brought back too many memories of my "older" cars shutting down by themselves.

I’d rather have start/stop than AFM. With AFM, even if you disable it, the complex hydraulics that make it work are still in play and subject to failure. Both AFM and its predecessor DOD have had reliability issues. I would gladly have the inconvenience of needing to disable start/stop every time I started the engine, then have the mechanics of AFM.

Rented a Chevy Impala once with that Stop / Start nonsense.
It was already a gutless wonder and it made the experience even worse.
On a positive note, with the new DCT there is no more Skip Shift issue with the 7 Speed Manual like I had on my 2014 Stingray.
I even bought one of those aftermarket Skip Shift bypass switches but I never got around to installing it. Still have that thing somewhere.
I haven't read anything about the Cylinder Deactivation system to increase Mileage on the C8.
It was part of the ECO Mode on the C7 I believe. I can do without that too.
Driving to Vegas one time I tried out ECO Mode. It showed I was getting 38 MPG for a 50 mile stretch. I found myself staring at the Gauge trying to keep that Green Line lit all the way around. I felt like a crazed Prius Driver and never used it again.

I for one am delighted that the C8 does not have Start-Stop. my F-Type R has it and it resets after each engine shut down. I always forget to turn it off when I start the engine until I get to the first red light. To the car's favor, it restarts before I can move my foot from the brake to the accelerator, but it's still an aggravation.

I have a 2017 Cruze with start/stop that has no way to shut it off. I ended up getting the car tuned, and the tuner was able to turn it off. You can also put the vehicle in manual mode, and advance the gear button, manually, and put it in 6th gear.
The car will change gears normally with the shifter in manual and the car in 6.

Never understood why people have issues with the Skip Shift. If you drive the Corvette like the performance sports car it is, then you never see the skip shift. If you short shift it in 1st gear, you will get it every time. All you need to do is accelerate to 2000 RPM's before shifting to 2nd gear, it never activates. Shifting gears as soon as you come off idle makes no sense.

It's like a skip shift, but goes though all the gears quickly.
