The "great wall" of buttons
This has been discussed thoroughly in a number of threads. Some like it, some don't. I was on the "wall" initially but have come around to realize that the execution was done quite well by the GM design team. This seems like it could possibly become an emerging trend, along with the square steering wheel. Now, the Lotus Evija took the wall to a whole other level, and not a good one. Looks like an enlarged version of my old DirecTV remote. Good job GM, I have come off the wall to appreciate your design.

I honestly don't care one way or the other about the supposed "wall of buttons". It's just where the buttons are, that is all. Nothing more, nothing less.

I just wish they did not use gloss black on the C8. It's highly reflective and impossible to keep clean looking. I still think it (wall of buttons) is awkward looking but not a deal breaker for me, but please stop using gloss black on interior trim! It's not just a GM thing either..

That Lotus wheel looks like it'd be insanely annoying to use.

Isn't that row of buttons gloss black? That was one of the review complaints I read is that they are reflective and get washed out in sunlight.

Jason Cammisa commented elsewhere that GM is aware of the gloss black button causing issues and might make a production change.

Don't forget that the latest Ford GT used the same shape squared steering wheel and no one complained about that:

I know a guy who knows a guy and he told me that while square steering wheels are the hot new thing, Triangle steering wheels are the future

Lotus interior looks awesome, but how do you grip the wheel? 12 and 6?

^^^ I like it. Makes it seem like a 1 seater with a passenger seat tacked on. I'm reminded of a motorcycle with a side car attachment.

In an interview with Harlan, he said the reason they did that was to keep everything extremely low on the dash so you could see the road better. If you look closely, everything from the screen to the tiny air vents are squished down for windshield visibility.

At the highest point, near the screen, it is, what, five inches higher than the surface of the center console?
