The "great wall" of buttons

I went to view the C8 today with an open mind. Boy, was I disappointed. The crude interior row of buttons sucks for the passengers. Everything else about the car was far worse than I had hoped for when seeing in person. After seeing it, I feel like going out and buying an additional C7. A C7/Z06/M7/Convertible. I'm not a h8tr, I just don't like anything about the C8 I wish I would've not gone. I wouldn't dislike it as strongly as I do now.
Does this mean that now we will not see your posts in this section anymore?

My assessment of the C8 stands. Thank God I bought a new C7/M7. I l♡ve it! That C8 is an embarrassment to GM. Including the shitty interior.

Had several conversations with Tadge at Carlisle. What a salesman. He got what he's been asking for. No excuses. Let it ride. The newness wears off and what's left is the real. We'll see how this ends in a few years.

I wouldn't trade my new C7 for a new C8 even up. It's such a step down on design for GM. Just doesn't work for me....

So why would you be on the C8 forum? I thought they had a C7 forum here as well?
I have a Gen1 R8. I don't go over to the Gen2 R8's forum and complain. I'm happy for them. Even though I don't particularly care for the Gen 2 styling I don't go over there and complain. Strange. You must be bored or are retired and have a lot of time on your hands and like to complain. My gf is excited to get the C8 in spite of "the wall" and we will both spend time tracking the car. Too much hate.

Only in our wildest dreams. What these trolls don't get is they try to force their feelings down everyone's throats and it doesn't work. For example, the back end of a C7 is a deal breaker to me, I dislike it that much, I wouldn't own the car. That doesn't take anything away from the cars performance or driving experience, it just means I didn't/won't buy one. That said, I have never one time, gone to the C7 section and said the back end of a C7 is horrible, I wouldn't do that. I respect the fact that those owners enjoy and love those cars as they should, what on earth would be accomplished by me going there and acting like a complete dick? If you have no interest in the C8, no desire to learn about it, no desire to buy one, or anything that contributes to the section, why are you here? That is NOT some fan boy bullshit either, I never claimed the car is perfect because it's not, I never claimed there will be no problems because there will be.

If GM really wanted a manual trans the first year of production it would have been accomplished...WhileTadge stated there was only a 15% take rate on manual trans, the actual 2019 production figures almost doubled that to 26% take. The Z06 rate was higher than 33%....That’s a lot of buyers to ignore....I for one am not interested in a sports car without a manual trans.....but at this point GM doesn’t care....

Being a Corvette fan as long as I remember I see the direction GM has gone with the styling and I can confidently say that it has deviated so much from the style I liked that I don't see myself buying any other corvette than I one I have. So yes it is sad to me that this is pretty much the end.

After my wife sat in both sides we talked it over and will be cancelling our order. l was shocked that she felt that strong about both the inside and exterior styling. Looks like it back to keeping our current motor pool of 5 vettes all manual transmissions 2000 frc track toy, 06Z06 my daily driver, 08Z06 T1 SCCA race car and her 12 Grandsport daily driver plus our daughter has an almost stock 06 manual she drives. Perhaps the C9 might be right for us but I am warming up to the Camaro....

If you don't like my opinions, don't respond to them. You're the same troll you've always been. I remember you said that you were too fat to fit in a Corvette, right? What's changed?

I understand you're "new here" but....
Maybe treat people on here as if you were standing in front of them. Not from behind a keyboard where you feel invincible.

Not liking the way it looks is understandable . To assume that the design will not function well is just silly. Many hours have been spent by many different techs in it's development .

I sat in a C8 in Phoenix a few weeks ago and didn't mind the wall of buttons one bit. Sitting in the passenger seat I didn't have issue with resting my elbow on the center console. I could see that if the seat is move forward to its limit a passenger may have issue with resting their elbow on it. It is really a first class interior in my opinion. I actually couldn't find anything I didn't like about it. The infortaiment display looks a little awkward regarding its placement, but no big deal.
My only problem with the C8 is that I don't quite like the looks of it as well as I do with the C5 through C7 generations, but I can overlook that with the expected technology and handling improvements. I'll be looking forward to having one and will probably end up with the Z06 version.
