The C6 ZR1 1/4 Mile and Standing Mile Fast List

This list is established to document owners/drivers 1/4 Mile times and Standing Mile (and 1/2 Mile) speeds for the C6 ZR1.

======================================== ==
The official GM acceleration specification for the quarter mile is:
2009-2013 (638 horsepower)…11.3 131
======================================== ==
That spec represents the average of a large number of passes driven by Chevy's professional drivers, not the best single pass they achieved. As shown on the Fast List, beating the Chevy spec even on an owner’s best pass is a difficult task.

The Fast List, found at the end of Post #1 of this thread is open for additions, as submissions are received and validated.

The 1/4 Mile Fast List has five sub-lists.

Bone-Stock on Stock Tires. This means completely stock with no performance changes whatsoever; must have the stock Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP or Sport Cup ZP Front: 285.30ZR19, Rear: 335.25ZR20 tires, stock exhaust, stock airpath, stock “untuned” and ""never-tuned" computer (ECU/PCM), etc.

Bone-Stock, except Non-Stock Tires including drag radials. Otherwise, the same requirement as above.

Bolt-Ons without Internal Engine Modification or Boost Modification (e.g. modified air-path, headers, PCM-tune, aftermarket clutch, non-stock rear gears, skinny front tires)

Bolt-Ons and Boost Modification without Internal Engine Modification (e.g. same as above but allows for supercharger pulley changes and porting of the stock supercharger)

Internal Engine and/or Aftermarket Power Adders (e.g heads, cam, increased displacement, turbo conversion, aftermarket supercharger, N20)

Rules:
In proposing submissions for inclusion on the 1/4 Mile list, please follow these simple rules

Rule #1. Post the details of your quarter-mile pass using this template:
Note: your submission won't be acted upon unless it is in the format below. This requirement applies to each new Personal Best.

(start cut and paste)

Year of the ZR1:
Tires used on the pass:
Performance Mods (if any):
Category submitted for:

Name of the track:
Date of pass:
Weather conditions: (include Density Altitude, if known):

(End cut and paste)

Rule #2. Times that may qualify for the top-20 in each category require posting of an image of the complete time slip. If you lack the ability to post an image, contact me via PM, and I will help you. "Time slip" means full time slip. Must include date/time of the pass and customarily includes identification of the track issuing the slip. Image should be in the vertical orientation and the numbers must be legible. A time slip is encouraged for all submissions as a means of improving documentation of accomplishments and increasing credibility of the Fast List.

Rule #3. Track times will not be corrected for weather or track altitude. Those elements can be noted in the comment portion of the submission to clarify the conditions under which the run was made. If interest merits, we can include a single category for fast times at tracks with altitudes, say, above 3000’ for the official track elevation. Please let us know if there is interest in such a category.

Rule #4. All members are invited to submit his/her times on this thread. The top 50 or so for each category will be included in the Fast List.

Rule #5. In the event two members submit a 1320’ ET identical to the thousandth of a second, the tiebreaker is the higher 1320’ mph.

Rule #6. To state explicitly a rule applied to all submissions since the Fast List's advent, in order for your track results to be included on it, they must be plausible, probable and credible. The time slip must match the capabilities of the car.

The Standing Mile and 1/2 Mile Fast List will only be two lists at this time. We will note on the list if the car is stock or modified. A car can be classified as stock if it meets the requirements of the Bone-Stock on Stock Tires 1/4 mile list catagory. Please include the details of all modification in your submission.

Rules:
In proposing submissions for inclusion on the Standing Mile or 1/2 Mile list, please follow these simple rules

Rule #1. Post the details of your standing mile pass using this template:
Note: your submission won't be acted upon unless it is in the format below. This requirement applies to each new Personal Best.

(start cut and paste)

Year of the ZR1:
Tires used on the pass:
Performance Mods (if any):
Category submitted for (stock or modified):
Mile or 1/2 Mile Trap Speed (mph).....
Name of the event/track:
Date of pass:
Weather conditions: (include Density Altitude, if known):

Image of complete Time Slip or Speed Certificate:

Link to Offical Event Results:

Link to Corvette Forum thread containing report:

Link to Video:

(End cut and paste)

Rule #2. Results must come from an offical sanctioned event where the speed result was given for a mile or 1/2 mile from a standing start . No "personal" mile speeds allowed.

Rule #3. Image of time slip, speed certificate, or link to offical event results needed for submission.

We appreciate member support for the Fast List and the moderators' accommodation for making it easy to find via status as a sticky.

I have done the first round of updates. I have also included a few times that were well documented on the board even though no offical submittal has been make to the list yet. If one of your times is on the list please complete the details per the requirements of the first post and I will link it in the list. If you would like me to remove your time from the list let me know and I will.

I have also sent a message to a mod requesting this thread be made a sticky.

skinny front tires...

I feel that if someone changes their rear rims/tires to have drag radials and also changes their front rims/tires to "skinnies" the car should still qualify for the "Bone-Stock, except Non-Stock Tires" category. What does everyone else think???

I would agree but good luck finding skinnies for a zr1:D

I can see what you are saying but I think the purpose of this catagory was if you take a stock car and give it better traction only. To me skinnies are not really for street driving (yes I know you can) and the reduced weight and lower rolling resistance take away from the car being "stock". If we get alot of guys wanting to do this with an otherwise stock car we could consider making the change but for now I think we should keep it as is.

If its still stock then run it all stock,if you meet a porsche 911tt pdk at a light you wont have time to change wheels and tires i think we should all learn to get to know how to drive our cars to their potential in all stock form. Then add whatever you want ;tires nitrous etc...

What are you talking about? I mean that I updated the list rules to reflect that Sport Cup tires are now an option for the bone stock with stock tires catagory since they are avaliable on the 2012 cars. On a side note I think I have done a decent job of getting potential of a stock ZR1 in the 1/4 mile.

Please update my DR pass............

Sunday at MIR was a great day.....Probably the best air possible to run in. Any colder and the track temp would never get warm enough to hook on. It just keeps amazing me what this car is capable of with out modifications!:D

It was great meeting more forum members and racing with some old friends too:thumbs:

Please update my fast list time for the stock tire pass. You may want to leave it as 2 separate entrys being as the 10.74 was with my red car and the 10.66 was with my yellow car.

This pass was made as the car comes from Chevrolet, On the stock Michelin tires. SHOWROOM STOCK, BONE STOCK, NOT a single modification!

Dec 18 2011 at MIR in Budds Creek Md, the weather was great for making the power as drag times says the DA was -1449, the problem was the traction on the stock tires was limited because it was very cloudy all day and track temp was lower than we like to have for maximum traction, especially with stock tires. That being said, I did get a couple passes where it hooked up on a good fast throttle squeeze.

I don't know if ya really need to worry about that, I think the 'xxxds Creek, MD' and the 'mirdrag.com' parts kinda give it away LOL. :D ;)

I'll still get the right picture and maybe a couple of them together in a row for legalities.

As for the fast and furious I do recall the black charger using a hydraulic system to make the wheels come up.
Now my car I only used the LS9 powered motor touched by the HAND OF GOD!!!!! And he said "let their be LIGHT... beneath your tires!":blueangel:

As long as the motor wasent messed with then its stock to me.Or just get the new michelins that the 2012 zr1,s and zo6,s have on them there pretty much just like having slicks pilot sport cups they have a tread ware of 86 thats crazy and there very exspensive

A couple notes about the day run/car. I do not have side skirts still due to receiving 2 sets of flawed side skirts. The car has the clutch spring removed from the clutch pedal so the clutch is stiffer. I took the plastic shroud that sits around the supercharger off and put it in the back of the car. I also ate a Reeses pieces this morning with a Diet Dr.Pepper before racing. No other food was used for these runs partially cause I'm fat :lurk:

[QUOTE=WydGlydJim;1580983327]I was kind of curious where this car I picked up would fall in this comparison..........because on the one hand, the engine displacement has been upgraded, but only from 350 to 415, which is smaller than 427. The engine has been tweaked quite a bit, but it is still naturally aspirated. Puttin out about 688 H.P.; went 185 mph in the mile, and best 10.49/135.xxxmph in the quarter..pretty good numbers for nearly 20 year old technology. It doesn't really compare to C4 #s, but more closely compares to C6 #s. The C6 guys in my club are in that river in Egypt about this car.
:D

I was there for that video. It looked like the rear bumper was going to hit and we all figured he would throw a half shaft.

There has been a request to add a standing 1/2 mile catagory to the list. I am going to go ahead and add that catagory for the next round of updates. Those of you that have 1/2 speeds listed in your standing mile post I will include you on the 1/2 mile list using that speed. If you have a better 1/2 mile speed that you would like included go ahead and make another post in this thread. Thanks.
