Who's going?
I took my ZR1 down there and ran 180.3 mph, bone stock.
Had a blast. Great event, great people, awesome cars. Ran my Z-06 thru with dozens of passes; it's addictive.
I'm taking my Callaway GS down there this year; good way to stretch its legs a bit.
Event is Oct. 26-28. You can sign up by going to the website texasmile.net

I was wanting to go but I’m vacationing in KY in October and then going to Spring Mountain in November. Unfortunately, I need to squeeze some WORK in somewhere. Hopefully I can do it in the spring.

I know you're just joshin' with the question, but for others that don't know, it's a standing mile event in Beeville Texas. The event is very well run, and you'll meet some great people and see some of the most awesome machines around - ZRs, Vipers, Ford GTs, Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches, you name it has run there. Heck I saw Gumpert Apollo run at one event.
Stock ZRs won't hit 200. They are 180mph cars stock. You'll see a whole bunch of 200+ mph machines there. All modified, some big-time modded pushing 1500 - 1600 hp to the wheels. The Lambos, FGTs and Supras are usually the top dogs in the high modified group.
It's a place you can go, spend some money on fuel, tires and tell folks the rest of it you just wasted.
Hope you get into the 200+ club, JMBLOWN.

Thanks Keith. The Texas Mile has the advantage of low elevation, but conditions make a big difference. If it's hot and windy (which it sometimes is, and often a head wind or quartering head wind to boot) then stock ZRs will run 178-ish.
If it's calm and cool - i.e. first run of the day or last run of the day (or just a nice mild day), you can get one in the low 180s.
Have to work the launch a bit, and nailing the shifts of course is key.

My Callaway won't be as fast as my ZR. Doesn't have the hp or torque.
It should run pretty close to what my Katech Z-06 ran- which was reliably mid-170s, with a couple mid/high 170 runs.
What are you expecting to see out of your beast? Knocking on 200, or mid/high 190s?

Thanks. And you're right. It's not like one can really wring these ZRs out on a regular basis.
That's what makes this event so much fun. Full bore, all out.
And the ZRs sound glorious with the throttle slammed open and supercharger on full boost thru the gears.
Fortunately given their outstanding aero, they are also very, very stable at speed. They run fast with ease.

Never could find a price on the event. Probably doesn't matter as after they read my medical history they won't let me in, even as a spectator. I've driven 162 MPH in my Z06 around Talladega, so driving 175 MPH in a straight line shouldn't tax me that much.
