First Time at the Track with the ZR1!
Well I finally got to the track with my ZR1 today for the first time with fellow forum members Walterm32 in his Z06 and Billy Clubb in his Ron Fellows Z06 and the Northern Va Mustang Club and a few strays that showed up with me. I decided I was going to run the car on the stock tires in totally as delivered condition and thats what I did. The traction was OK off the line but was not very good much past the starting line and the 2nd gear shift and subsequent loss of traction and occasional wheel hop and throttle lift on many runs cost me some et and mph but overall I was pleased with the results as it was my first time in the car at the track. All the runs are in chronilogical order to the time of day I ran and as you can see I even hot lapped the car on a few occasions. Overall I would say there is no question the ZR1 is the fastest American Factory Production car ever! The single slip picture was my shakedown run and all the runs that follow are in order.

All I can say is WOW!!
I'm stunned! Don't know where to begin....
10.794 @132+..... Incredible and not even your best 60 footer!
Maybe heat sink is not as bad as people think in a real world setting.
You guys impress the hell out of me with your driving! Great work!
This should continue to quiet the skeptics! The numbers are beginning to speak for themselves, and you guys will continue to go lower.......
cheers!

Congratulations. Looks like some great runs. I don't really care who gets the best times with a bone stock ZR1, it just goes to show what a great car the ZR1 is. As to your statement about the fastest American production car, I would venture to say that with the exception of cars costing will over a million dollars (like the Venron), the ZR1 is the fastest production car ever in the world. According to 6speedonline.com, the only production car with a 1/4 mile time better than your 10.794 run is the Venron at 10.2. It even beat the Enzo at 10.8.
Hope to see even better times in the future.

Thanks Race! I told you I couldn't touch the 1.70 and I couldn't! I tried but there were many factors holding me back like, skill and traction but mostly skill. I wasn't sure whether I would be able to run a better pass than your 10.85 or not because thats a strong run! I guess I was able to make it up after I got out of the hole as I am better once out than I am at getting out.
Also thanks Mike!, I forgot to mention Mike (Walterm32) moved right behind Ranger on the Z06 fast list with his bone stock 11.19 run he made today to go with many low 11.20 runs he made.

It sounds like the traction may not have been quite as good as last week when we were there. I don't remember breaking traction on the 1-2 shift. Though, my 1-2 shift is more labored than yours I am sure. We may have had a little better track and you may have had a little better air.
Edit: Taking a look at the time slips at least I still have the quickest stock tire 1/8 mile time.

That's incredible. If your looking at some more track time, we are having a rental at MIR on Nov 6. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/perf...rnie-king.html

Wow - fantastic driving, Jamie! Those times (and MPH) are amazing. Two runs 3 minutes apart - heat soak apparently isn't an issue.
For the record - what was the DA, and were you running 91 / 93 / ? octane?

Amazing times. I'm sure that with the competitive nature of racerns, Ranger and Jamie, that the times will continue to improve.
