Re: Cold Air intake - test results... (shoptek)

:withstupid:

Very nice looking setup.

I don't know much about these things, but it seems that in the winter your setup will give more than the 8hp gain you currently are getting. ...

Choke on Speed Demon?

I've decided on the Speed Demon 650, mechanical secondaries. Now I'm just trying to figure out if I really need a choke or not.

The temps here in SC rarely dip below 30 F, but this is my daily...

No picture limit, no bandwidth limit, and it's free.

The downside? Your pics are for public voting, but who cares if it's a pic of your car? A few people have...

Re: Is there any HP gain by switching to Electric rad fan? (75 Stingray!)

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but do you really gain hp? You don't get something for nothing, the alternator still has to power the fans. Whatever the alternator puts out in terms of amperage is at...

Do you know where Fairforest Middle School is? If so, go past it headed toward I-85. After about a mile, you will cross over I-85. Just keep straight.

After about...

Re: I finally did it! (shotgun_000)

One more question.

The last time I run G-Tech, my best was 5.1 seconds, and I did several runs.
I have made no modifications to the engine since that time, about a month ago.

The engine has...

Question for those with a high volume/pressure oil pump

Since my engine was rebuilt, almost a year ago, it has used a little oil. Once a month, I have to add a quart of straight 30W oil. Is this normal with a light oil, and high oil pressure?

My oil...

Since I now have a Cd player with built in clock, I would like to trash the non-functioning clock in my dash cluster.

What would be a cool gauge to replace it with? I think it would be awesome to...

Aftermarket speedometer alternatives to factory units?

My 140mph unit on the 79 is broken, due to my stupidity.

I refuse to pay the crazy prices that people want for these units, or to repair, just because it has Corvette stamped into it.

I was...

Re: West Coast Used 63-82 Parts (corvgreg)

How about a speedometer for a 79? I would rather have the early 140mph style, but the 85mph would suffice.

Wanted to Buy: 140 mph Speedometer for 79 Corvette

I'm looking for the early 79 model speedometer (140mph). However, I will also consider an 85mph or 165 (aftermarket modified).

IM or email me with item details, and asking price.

Thanks!...

Re: I have to be one of the dumbest people on the planet (shotgun_000)

I have an idea of how to fix it, but I don't know if it will work.

I'm going to pull the speedometer out, and attempt to pull the pin out that is broken. Then, pull the other half out of the...

I have to be one of the dumbest people on the planet

Re: O/T Could someone explain alternator connections to me? (shotgun_000)

One thing I forgot to mention is that this is just alternators in general. It doesn't have to be corvette specific.

I'm helping a friend rewire his 73 Ford truck, and these connections are...

Re: Spare Tire Size? (jerryp58)

Re: 1979 Corvette Owners (hunt4cleanair)

I'll check the build date this evening; I'm at work currently :(

Will the build date be on the label, near the driver's side door hinge? Maybe I'll look under the seats to see if the build sheet...

Re: 1979 Corvette Owners (hunt4cleanair)

Mine also had the 85mph speedo, but I've since changed to a 140. The turn signal lever itself is...
