Aftermarket speedometer alternatives to factory units?
My 140mph unit on the 79 is broken, due to my stupidity.
I refuse to pay the crazy prices that people want for these units, or to repair, just because it has Corvette stamped into it.
I was looking at Autolite gauges, and they have some really nice units.
My main concern in doing a swap is calibration, especially with analog units. Digital units are very easy to calibrate, but I don't think I would like digital.
So, for those who have made such a swap, what did you do: Part numbers, fit, calibration, pictures.
Thanks in advance for any advice or comments. :seeya :chevy
