I've had my 08 vert since new and operated the power top countless time without any issues at all. It now has 143K miles on the clock. Solid as a rock.

I did not do the hood and the install is almost invisible. In over 30k miles I do have two tiny chips on the front edge of the hood. Luckily, hardly anything shows up easily on Machine Silver.

I don't know why, I've tried pieces of leather and thick foam in black so it would not show but it didn't stop the rattle. Only the paper did the job.

I had the exact situation as you described after...

I had the exact situation as you described after taking delivery of my 08 with POWER TOP. Took it back to the dealer and they buffed it out and it has been perfect ever since.
