Seems like most of the posters are 30-40, that’s plenty of time to get your life in order and be well ahead.
the economy is doing well and high paying jobs are plentiful at the moment, I’m not surprised..many are also waiting longer to have children, and they have dual incomes.

I am married, will never have kids (wife and I do not want any). I work for the Federal Government doing secret things so at least I can never be laid off. I see that most people have many jobs in the private sector (avg employment is like 3-5 years for each job) or are always on pins and needles regarding losing their jobs. That must be scary.

This.

I'm a hustler, apart from the FD I have 5+ revenue streams constantly making me money, and my wife is a ARNP. And…..no kids. I'm not rich but our combined 350K income allows for a good lifestyle and housing/living is very affordable where we live.

I'll echo that nobody making under 100K/yr should be looking at the new C8. They should be finding ways to make more money. The C8 will come.

27, I love my manual C7 Z06 and I'm loving this C8 but will wait for the Z06 to be unveiled. If its really amazing maybe I'll sell my C7 but I'd like to keep it and park a C8 Z06 next to it. I'll probably hold off around 5 years, wait for the savings to build and let the mid engine bugs and refreshes kick in and then see what I can do.

But yes the plan is to add a mid engine Corvette to the stable, at some point.

I will.

I'm 23 and have owned a c6 z06, a Cadillac ATSV sedan, and 2 Chevy SS sedans thus far.

I will certainly get a C8 without a doubt. A little bummed at no manual, but I'm sure I can get passed that

I had a Lotus Esprit Turbo at 23, before that, a 1959 Cadillac, before that a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado.

Shortly after I had a 1960 Plymouth Fury 413 (ultra rare mule car) sold it to Richard Petty relative. Then had a 1967 Cadillac Deville Convertible.

So, yeah, I get it! haha

33 years old, $300K household income. I will be ordering one in the next 12-18 months. My grandfather was into corvettes, sort of got me into the heritage but never really liked them until the C7 came out. This one looks absolutely siiick!

You won me over GM... I was going for the 718 GTS initially.

Lot of One Percenters! Don't let GM see this thread or they will raise the base price!

I just turned 37 and will get a C8 before or on my 40th. Bought a C6 at 26 and then a C7 Z51 at 33. The biggest discussion last night with my wife was are we going to keep the C7 and add the C8 or trade-in the C7 for it. Can't wait to see it in person!

I am 28 with a good job... Have $$ saved toward newer car (my cars are ancient at this point) or upgrading to nicer house

I like the c8 in general but everytime I have to catch myself and realize it's not manual transmission... That's a real bummer for me personally.

Also, I usually like the z06 versions of cars more with the wider body styling and special touches but jeez omg 0-60 z51 "base model" c8 is fast a F***.... Why would I need any faster..? Lol

Ultimately I will most likely continue driving my ancient cars and save up more $$. I will wait and see the z06 body styling and drivetrain and go from there. Plus obviously the first 2 years will have integration bugs

If GM had a N/A manual transmission Grand sport version of the car in a few years I would likely sell both my cars and get that.

2 styling things I am not a huge fan of is the steering wheel and the "wall" between driver/passenger. I could see the buttons on the wall end up being a pain in the *** to actually live with... Pretty un-ergonomic.

2 simple things I AM a fan of is the fact they seem like they will offer various color seat belts and stitching! I have been saying this for YEARS. So glad to actually see this as a customization from factory. Really makes the interior feel more upscale IMO.

Other thing is I love the idea of using the PDR as a dash cam. I posted a thread on why they should do that for c8. (It'd just be largely software). maybe they saw my thread on here and got the idea from me!! Lol

That said, @ 25 years old, I plunked down $10K in cash when I bought my first Corvette, a new 1977. C3. An anomaly, to be sure. Not the norm...
You sound like an old fart who happens to love cars. My first Vette was a new '75 at 22 and I was ridiculed at the dealership during service. At 66 I am planning on getting the C8 because I'm a car guy who loves sport cars.

33. Said it before and I'll stick by it: I'll puck up a nice used model when a refresh comes out in 4-5 years and drives the market to the mid-$30s.

Meh, its the internet. Lot more supposed buyers here than actually walk in to a dealer and plop down money. Wait to see sale numbers before declaring it to be a home run with youth.

I'm 31. I'm looking forward to buy one in about 3 years.

I'll tell you this much, I haven't heard one bad thing from people my age I personally know. Everyone was up and watching the reveal last night.

Also interested in the GT500 (have owned a lot of v8 mustangs) but am so sick and tired of the stupid games Ford dealers play with any car that is remotely exciting (ADM, allocation mind games, etc.) and #1 on the list for the M2 CS (although least excited about this one due to lack of BMW reliability, but I can pick it up from the performance center in my backyard which is cool).

I'd say right now my preferences are as follows:
1a - C8
1b - GT4
2a - used GT3 (991)
2b - 991.2 Carrera T
3 - GT500
4 - M2 CS

So tempted to wait for the Z06 but then I ask myself, why do I need more than a 3 second 0-60? I think the GrandSport is the goldilocks for me, just hope they release some info by middle of next year before I make a move.

Give Mike Furman a call at Criswell Chevrolet or Macmulkin Chevrolet (https://www.macmulkin.net/) a call. They are the two largest Corvette dealerships and can get the new C8 at discount pricing.

Do yourself a favor and check them out BEFORE you buy anything else.

There are two amazing Chevrolet dealerships that most on the Corvette Forum love and they happen to be the largest Corvette dealers except for Kerberk. MacMulkin Chevrolet and Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet.

They will have the mostt allocation of C8s and will offer he largest.discounts
