New 2010 GS Convertible
I have an opportunity to purchase a new (never registered) 2010 GS vert. The dealer is playing with the numbers. The car has all options, NAV, HUD, Bose, BlueTooth, chrome wheels.
I was looking at used (like for like) KBB quotes $43K -$49K with less than 5K miles.
I was thinking of offering $55K out the door.
Is that reasonable to the dealer? Or, am I dreaming?
Let me know what you'all think....

According to the price for a 2012 Convertible I would say 55 out the door is too much! http://www.kerbeck.com/

What's M.S.R.P.? "All the options" is too vague to know the value of the car. Is it a 3LT or 4LT? 9N=Both have the optiobs you listed but 4LT is considerably more expensive.) Does it have NPP? Transmission type? We need more info if we're to give you a meaningful response.

I'd be surprised if you got it for $55K. Maybe $58K plus taxes. Let us know what they say.

How many miles are on the car?
It might have been used as a salesman's loaner car with dealer plates.
I would check to understand the start of warranty date. It might not be a new car, as far as GM is concerned.
Doesn't hurt to be cautious before you make an offer.

that had to be WITH incentives. no dealer is going to discount that car 23.5% off of MSRP.......they pay more than that for the car. that was a great deal even thuogh the car is orange.

This "out the door" quote by dealers is a new thing...maybe 3-4 years old. Used by dealers to distance the buyer from seeing what he is paying for the car alone.
Stick to the cost of the car only for negotiation purposes.....then deal with the sales tax, title fee, registration/tag fee after the fact. Also, watch out for the dreaded "documentation fee" which is really additional dealer profit. Could run $400 to $800 and you get no benefit for it.
Good luck.
