I had the same problem. Not being able to find a replacement I removed the piston and sanded the inside bore till the piston moved freely. Worked perfect after that.

I've just replaced a battery that was 7 years old, it had always been on a battery tender when parked for any length of time. The battery still tested good I just had a fear of a 7 year old...
