The '93 doesn't have a MAF, it's speed density. I'm with the others. It could be the ICM, but you really need to pull the codes before throwing money at it.

B&M shift-kit in my '93 works great. Big difference. PeteK does not recommend the Transgo for a '93. I can go sideways in 2nd gear.

Is it a code 41 or 42? 42 could be the ICM, ECM, or the wiring in-between. Doesn't sound like an optispark problem. Maybe a bad ICM out of the box?

I don't know the model numbers, but I have a B&M shift kit and a B&M supercooler mounted to the front of my condenser. I've had them about 4 years and have no complaints.
