Default SLP or Vortex intake on 92 LT1?

Newbie here. Just bought my 92 LT1. Car is stock other than exhaust. Just wondering if anyone has strong feelings toward either cold air intake, SLP or the Vortex. I know the vortex requires cutting but i really want to know about the performance factor. Thanks, Matt

Easy installation: SLP

I have Vortex on both of my C4s. You'll feel a bit of higher torque. An cold air intake w/ air filter may give you 1/2 of RWHP.

thanks man, appreciate it. Is the vortex install fairly easy even with the cutting involved?

I found the Vortex to be a total piece of cheap plastic junk. First the box warped, then the plastic piece going to the throttle body started collapsing. One day at the dyno, we removed it and gained 10 rwhp! I threw it in the dumpster and went back to the cut-lid and filter.

I put on open lid on my stocker, you can also just cut it.

the cam and heads will come later . thanks again for everyone's help. one last question. referring to the pic above, with the vortex, the cut goes directly underneath where the air filters on the slp are correct? and bolt the box to that?

3 things I look for. 1) Looks 2) Quality 3) Performance gain.

I have the a/o forced air and it has all 3 in spades. Personally I feel the others have 0/3. I've had the vortex and it is an incredible piece of junk. I would suggest a cut lid for $40.
