How did you get the clutch master cylinder to work on the 09+ system? I thought that tick said its for the 08 and earlier? Is there a workaround?

Jim or Jason, i understand that you both have aftermarket clutches already installed in the cars and that its quite involved to change a clutch. But have either of you thought about going with that...

Another think that i think would be interesting to post is the age of the Z06 owner.

No idea, but they still mark the brake reservoir to use DOT 3 instead of DOT 4. And we all know that DOT 4 is superior to 3, so there is no tellin.

You could also use DOT 5.1, as it is compatible with DOT 3 and 4 and has as higher temp tolerance than the others.

Just opens up more options.

Community consensus is that the 06 is the lightest of them all, and they get progressively heavier as the years went on be it due to creature comforts, sound deadening and the like.

Oh and there is a section that is for Gen IV motors which includes the LS7s so you could go in there if you wanted...

Also would need to check into a clutch package, as i am not sure what the speed rating is on that and if the pressure plate would be able to keep an adequate enough clamp load on the disk.

I would imagine they say to drain the coolant because if they still run a coolant line through the throttle body like they did on the F-bodies to "prevent throttle body icing". If they did that again...

I dont think you would be able to crank it fast enough by hand to pre-oil the engine like he is wanting to do.

When i put a new motor in my last car all i did was pull the fuel pump fuse and crank...

Well maybe they used a different type of limited slip. In the 98-02 F-bodies the 98-00's used an auburn type limited slip which used clutch packs where as the 01-02's used a torsion type which didn't...

If it seized then i would clean out any and all oil passages that you can. Check intake for anything as you would any part before it goes back in. But the difficult part is going to be getting it...
