In order for this contest not to get out of hand, I think you need a rule that if something remains present it needs to remain functional (as it camer from the factory).
This would prevent having the radio installed in the dash, but its guts are gone and the wires between the radio and speakers are similarly missing.

That's not part of the rules....everything has to remain "functional".....
GREAT guys, very, very interesting....subscribed.
All 'Vettesters' can benifit from this......VERY

Jim or Jason, i understand that you both have aftermarket clutches already installed in the cars and that its quite involved to change a clutch. But have either of you thought about going with that tilton triple carbon clutch? If memory serves you can get it in two weights of 16 or 19lbs. But the only things is that I have no idea what the drivability of such a clutch would be. Just a thought

Jim,
I am looking forward to finding out just exactly what the weight difference is between the SMC roof and halo as compared to the CF parts. I was curious; those are obviously the ZR-1 parts. Do they also come on the Carbon Edition? If I remember correctly (ya, like there is a chance that can happen) aren't the CE parts painted? Are they cheaper because they don't have the super expensive UV guard coating?

Thanks again, Jason.
If I was producing high-quality, carbon fiber parts, that is certainly how I would do it as well. I have been putting off changing out the roof structure bolts because of the the hassle and the fact that when I try to remove plastic panels, I have a tendency to break things. It seems that I only learn how they come apart AFTER I have broken a connector, tab or clip. However, 7 pounds sounds inviting enough to give it a try. I have also thought about trolling the dealerships for a body guy that might be willing to spend an afternoon picking up a little extra cash by showing me how all that stuff is put together and the best ways to put them back. One more thing, Jason. Does GM sell the panels painted or just primered?
Gary
P.S. Any experts out there in the Southern Arizona area willing to help me out and show me how it's done?

We'll have the pillar at the same time.
Saw a Z06 Carbon yesterday in Ohio. Very nice, but the lighting was very dim. It looked like Cyber Gray in the light (lack of)

Maybe R. Wilhoff from Able Chevrolet can jump in here. He has the whole process hard wired.
One more point. The Carbon Z06 does not have the CF pillar, just the roof panel and hood. Both are painted which will add 2 lbs or so in primer and paint.

Not available in ZR1/Z06 wheel sizes as far as I can tell. The mfg. does not reply to requests for information either.
These are ultra light and ultra expensive. I think the Ultraleggeras are fine for now, and I have not found any others lighter.
I would actually prefer Magnesium. The Dymags were nice, but history.

I know these wheels, they are made by Carbon Revolution (http://www.carbonrev.com/), and available for the SSC Ultimate Aero and TuaTara! They reduce weight with 40 - 50% !!!
see also: http://www.carbonfibergear.com/video...-fiber-wheels/, and http://carbonrev.com/technology.html, where you can see them mounted on a C6 Corvette.
I have contacted CR earlier this year (in January), but never received an answer. And it's seems that I'm not the only one: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-business.html
