Default Z06 VS ZR1 Same RWH - Who Wins?

If a naturally aspirated Z06 with cam, headers and other mods had the same RWH as a ZR1, who would win and why. Is there advantages to either that would give them an advantage both being equal RWH?

ZO6 is lighter but ZR1 have better mid range HP & TQ also have better transmission ratio if your talking about 150+mph runs.

Thats like saying. Ls-3 vs Ls7 since the ls-9 is a boosted Ls-3.
The higher RPM range plus the bigger ls-7 has more TQ.
Says bye to the smaller LS9. Just like I'm running only 9psi but
have around a 100 rwhp advantage over the ZR1!
A ls-7 with equal rwhp to Ls-9 wins!

z06 all day long. lighter, n/a vs boost. I think there are z06's making less power (20-30rwhp) than stock zr1's, that can still hang with them.

no better way to prove the pudding than to do a mexico race.

Driver's race I guess would be the answer most of the time, but the two ZR1's that I have ran since having my H/C/I package installed have been left more than a car behind. The Z06 weighs a bit less than the ZR1 as well and my torque curve puts me right in my power band during every upshift and I stay in it until I shift again

I will let you know 1/4 mile in about a month. My buddy has a stock ZR1 and my cam/bolt-ons will be in the Z06 in 2 weeks.

Didn't know what replies and which way this would go, but glad about the comments i have read. I am having a cam, ported intake and throttle body, headers, intake and a tune which will give me around 540 to 550 RWH per Ragin Racin on my 06 Z. I am very excited to see what the dyno puts down.

Same HP and tires the Z06 would win in most scenarios, especially a couple laps on the road course. After that the Z06's stock brakes would become scary and the ZR1's would never give up.

add some brakes and shocks to the z06 and it would take care of a zr1.....
both great cars....stock for stock we all know which is the best performer in most catagories.....it doesn't take much to mod a z06 to beat a zr1....used z06 for 45k plus 10k mods will do it...

Full "Bolt-on only" Z will beat a stock ZR1 in most instances except 'maybe' repeated high speed laps on a road course where heavy braking may come into effect.

Are good pads and a good set of rotors with some SS lines good enough on the Z06, or do they need a full brake kit? Obviously they wouldn't be CC brakes, but would they hold their own?

Yep... I race with my buddy's ZR1 a couple of weeks ago and my bolt on Z (no cam w 517 whp) vs my buddy ZR1 (576 whp w tune) went head to head all the way to 165 mph (close road in mexico of course)
