jack points on a C4
I need to get my car on 4 jack stands safely, so the easiest way would be if I could pick up the nose of the car in one lift then support the corners with jack stands and then pick up the back and support the corners with jack stands.... Is there anything that can take the weight such as the rear end housing or the brace under the oil pan. Is it safe to jack at these locations or am I risking damage to the car

Thanks for the links it reassured that I could jack on the front cross member.. however I couldn't get a jack on the rear because my exhaust runs right under the middle of the differential center section.

I've had my car on jackstands literally thousands of times. It's sitting on them now. I have always placed a jack on the framerail under one of the side mirrors. The car will lift evenly on that side. Put two jackstands on the framerail in front and the other in back. Scoot over to the other side and do the same thing. It only takes a couple of minutes and is easy to do.

I got the car in the air safely so now my project will begin.... I am going to attempt to make the under carrage look as good as the top. I'll get some pics once its done.

I will tear the rockers and gills off the car this weekend and start grinding this weekend... I should have some before and some preliminary step pics up there after.

The fronts simple I place a board across the front cross member and jack the front.
The rear is simple too, however, here's an old post showing how it works even with the factory catback,, I can use the spring perch as a jack point......

This may seem a little odd but this big old jack...was my grandfathers back when he was alive fits under my C4
The pedastal on the jack is the perfect size to lift my rear in one lift..
But the harbor freight jack in the picture will not fit under the car without driving up onto a 2x4 first
My suggestion is to find an old American built floor jack...it takes me two jack placements to get car on four jackstands...........

The easiest way is to place a jack under the frame rail at about the center of the door and jack the car up to the height you desire and then place the jack stands at the designated jack points. Now, lower the jack and move the opposite side and repeat the process. If the car breaks in half it wasn't road worthy anyway.

Get yourself a set of wheel skates. Put the car on the skates by jacking up 1 side (middle of the door) then the other. Then start raising the car a little at a time on each side (using the jack stands) until you get the desired height. I use the skates, 1st anyway, to get the car where I want it in the garage.
