Yeah I know several VW owners and my Aunt and Uncles experience with their S4 that disagree wildly with this. Nothing but a constant stream of issues that are anything but cheap to address. Not...

Seems like a pretty fair video. I think it's fair if the C8 was not running track alignment as they testers may have felt it should be ran as it is sold. You could make an argument either way. The...

I speculated a long while back that the Z06 will be TT DOHC FPC, The ZR1 will be that powertrain + electric assist. And the NA FPC 5.5L will be for the Grandsport. Who knows how it will play out. I'd...

You're right. I'd been looking at too many comparisons with the GT500 and ZR1 and got the numbers mixed. I'd still say the 150+hp advantage on a track like the Nurburgring is a significant advantage....

Drag from aero is certainly a factor. I don't have the statistics for the ZL1 1LE acceleration at triple digit speeds, but with that sort of a power advantage I can't imagine it isn't substantially...

But the Camaro ZL1 1LE is competing well with, and sometimes beating, exotics in test like C&D's Lighting Lap. So I'm not sure that the C8 being 13 seconds behind the ZL1 1LE with a 155HP deficit on...

I do think on a track, like the Nurburgring, which has some very long straights that the 155 more HP the Camaro has is certainly a factor when comparing lap times. The C8 is not infallible, but does...

Well overall you'd probably still have a lower TCO on the C8 vs. the Porsche even with a higher tire budget. The weight will always be felt without a doubt. But the power difference is there too....

Might try the track alignment and more aggressive tires on the C8. Won't fix all your complaints but the feedback seems to be that it makes the car more capable. Hard to go wrong with either.

Exactly. They were tested as provided. Considering the differences in setup (tires, brakes) the C8 certainly has nothing to apologize for. The Porsche had the better combination of equipment, is a...

These cars have always been close rivals. I'm not sure why anyone should be surprised by these results. The power is close (especially considering altitude). The Porsche has better brakes and rubber....

My current guess is:

Z06 = FPC DOHC + turbo, HP slightly above current Z06
GS = FPC DOHC, HP slightly above base model
Zora/ZR1 = FPC DOHC + turbo + hybrid, HP will be a lot

Agreed AWD will be electric. The frame has no accommodations for a driveshaft to the front of the car and electric is a perfect fit here. I think the Z06 will be a higher HP RWD variant and the top...

DOHC isn't really new. I think the earliest examples are in the late '20's- early '30's. Newer than OHV sure, but not "new".

As far as the LT5 goes, it's a great powerplant. Although I think it's...

I'd guess they are using exotic metals, but adding in the extra hardware needed for DOHC is going to eat away at that savings.

As far as the Ford motor vs. the LT2. The OHV engine tends to have a...

The packaging problem isn't with a supercharger on the C8, it was with turbos on the previous front engine car. Turbos are a better option than superchargers as there is no parasitic drag. With the...
