Re: Car Turns off while driving!! (Black96Corvette)

When was the last time the car was tuned up?? I'd start there if you don't know, could be something as simple as the fuel filter getting clogged up. No check engine light lately or anything??

Re: Car Trouble (kscorvettekid)

That is about right, GM does that with all their vehicles. My Vette & 2002 Silverado do the same thing, stay on full forever, after that the gauges drop like a rock. Keep in mind that the vette has a...

Re: Need help: Tach sometimes drops near zero momentarily under full-throttle at high RPMs (ELEVENS)

Happens to mine too, tach filter is going out. If you follow the white tach lead you will find it runs through a cylindrical filter mounted to one of the top drivers side transmission bolts.
The...

Re: Steve vs. Vette Wiring problem, round 18921982 <ding ding> (CarAteMyMoney)

A friend of mine had a similiar problem with his Grand National and it turned out the ECM was garbage. Symptoms were identical, scanner would give out data sometimes, funny characters others, and in...

Re: Anyone running "better" O2 sensors? (LT4Sam)

What those threads are talking about is how the older cars have problems with headers since the O2 isn't heated. The '94 and newer cars all have heated O2. Since yours are heated you shouldn'e have...

Re: How come my car won't turn off? (SaveTheWave)

There is a rod in the column that runs from the lock cylinder down to a switch that engages the starter. It sounds like that is what has jammed up on your car. It's not something you probably are...

Re: Car stumbles when driving (94-LT1)

The 90-91's are speed density not MAF, sounds like it could be fuel related, do you have any way to check fuel pressure??

Re: Why won't my '91 auto go into Park? (Vette9d1)

I had the same problem except it would ratchet the park pawl when parking the car on a hill. It's an easy adjustment. The procedure from the 1990 service manual: 1. Disconnect battery (your call)...

Re: Borrowing a snap on scanner, tips? (sputnick)

The setup for a snap on scanner is relatively easy. It just references off certain characters in your VIN. It only gives nominal values, you have to know what is normal range.
As far as your problem...

Re: Turn Indicators Just died, need help before I get rear-ended (RebelCorvette)

Sounds like the turn signal switch in the steering column broke. Its a sliding switch with two springs(one for left and one right signal) that like to break. Its a $20 part but it involves removing...

Re: anyone running power effects on an L98? opinions? (movin)

I have them on a '90 with auto and 3.07 gears. They resonate at cruise only when they are in the open position. If you get sick of hearing it its easy as pulling over and closing the baffle. They...

Re: How to tune AIR/Fuel ratio? Thinking of going lean to get passed emissions... (notbob)

You have to be careful how much you go lean, too much and you'll raise NOx levels fast. If they don't test for that in your area then you are all right. Try the dry gas method(2-3 bottles), I know...

Re: $350.00 for a fuel sender???!!!! Anyone know a better deal? (axcelr8)

I just ran into the same problem with my '90 :mad . I agree the price is outrageous, the best deal I found was at gmpartsdirect.com $250 + $50 for shipping. Part number is 25027510 for the sender,...
