Re: REV LIMITER AT 6500 (speedyc5)

It is rumored that the push rods on the LS1 engine are rather soft and that pushing the rev limiter too much is asking for trouble. I set mine for 6300 and haven't had a problem yet. On the other...

Re: Hypertech Power Prog. III qtn. (Noran Raad)

This unit will only mess up any tuning done by a tuner such as Breathless. It is only good for setting rpm limiter, shift points , fan on temps , and the like. I personally think it is a waste of...

Intermittent reading of RF tire pressure

After about 10000 miles my DIC display for front tire pressure gives me the pressure for the left front tire but nothing for the right front. After driving awhile the right front tire sensor starts...

Re: replacing running lights (johno99)

Don't need to remove headlight assembly. You can either go through the bottom of the car ( side where bulb is out) by removing a few screws and sticking your hand up to the bulb. There is alot of...

Re: Is the throttle body bypass mod worth it? (Ram Air Tony)

The kit is a waste of money. Any improvement is so minor that you would not notice it and I doubt that it would even show up on the best dyno.It won't hurt anything however and if it keeps the air...

Re: Did NOT torque my plugs - am I OK? (RWhite)

Same here. Hand tighten with no problem for over 40 years. Just don't overtighten. A torque of 15 ft/lbs is not alot. You just want them to bottom out and not loosen up. It becomes instinctive.

Re: want your opinions on Z06 grill install (mods to come)

The post that suggested the use of masking tape was so that you would know the position of where to put the Velcro. It was 1/4 inch behind the masking tape which indicated the front of the screen. I...

Re: Ram air lid for Blackwing? (SFVetteman)

The so called hood is really a" cold air cover" as named by the company. You have to cut a rectangular hole in the shroud. The nice thing is that they provide you with a piece of plastic that is used...

Re: Those with Hardbar Delrin shifters, do you guys like it? (NassyVette)

I switched from a MOMO to Hardbar on my Ripper. No comparison. I would not switch back. Gives you much better feel.

Re: Safe rev limit on stock LS1 (Ryan2002C5)

I set mine to 6200 just to avoid hitting the limiter but I shift at 5800 which is peak HP for my car. I am using the new G Tech Competition Pro which has the shift light indicator that starts...

Re: Dash lights...blinking, blinking. gone (AZ99FRC)

I have heard that some people have had good results with a new ignition switch. This is often the cause of the symptoms you mention.

Re: T-84 Euro Headlamps or PIAA foglight replacement ? (O-Ace)

Get both if you can. I purchased both from Shawn and am very pleased with both but I like the PIAA fogs the best. So, if you can only get one now go for the PIAA fogs. They are money well spent. The...

Re: How hard is it to change the plugs on a C5? (Patman36)

If you have large hands as I do it is a real pain to remove the rear plug on the drivers side. You have to remove the hose to the brake resevoir and the thick hose to what appears to be an EGR valve....

Re: Help, Lost dash and parking lights (sheldon)

It sounds like a bad ignition switch. Many gm cars have had this problem. All gages will either light up and at times completely go dead. You can even lose power as well and the air conditioning can...

Re: What an unexpected surprise!!!!!!!! (GaryZ06)

They came with a gap of .57 and I did not change them. The gap should be no less than .55 or more than .60 but I think the latter is too much gap. Have fun.

Re: What an unexpected surprise!!!!!!!! (GaryZ06)

If you realize half of the improvement that I did it is worth making the change. The rear plug on the drivers side is a real bear to get to even when you remove the hose to the brake resevoir and...
