It seems to me that anyone really trying to predict what the C6 will be like would first look at what GM has done every time in the past when they brought out a new generation of 'vette.

Their goal is to sell cars, that's what they care about, and a new generation of vette will sell well a ll by itself, without mass HP or technology.

Based on that, I'd guess 375 - 385 HP and not a lot of new, new technoology when the C6 is introfduced. Given that competition is intense (Cobra) they might see their way to just use the LS6 in every 'vette, but nothing more, I'm confident.

As for the suspension and frame, you can read all about it in articles about the cadillac XLR -- it has the basic C6 frame and suspension so we know that that will be evolutionary, not revolutionary. (And by the way, the XLR is a good example of this BS with rumors. Remember all the hype about a supercharged 400 HP Northstar). And here it is now coming to dealers with a mere normal, slightly hotted up 330 HP

Remeber, The C5 had a 15 HP increase or the LT4 in the last C4. The '84 C4 bumped up the HP about 30 or 40 or so over the '82, again not staggering, and, if I remember right, when introduced in '68 the C3 had a slight displacement and power increase over the last C2 (I remember going to the dealer on the first day and if I remember right that is when the 'vette went to 350 cid from 327 and had about proportionally more HP).

It is several years into a generation that GM will bring on technology and HP to keep sales up. Look at the LS engine. I am certain GM knew from the day it was designed that it could produce 405HP in LS6 trim (and probably more, for that matter), but 345 and the original LS1 was enough, then the improvements come later . .

It'll be the same with the C6. With a price right where it is today, $40 - $50k. No $70k targets. This is all about marketing.
