Yes 1 touch up and down. I've had it for 2 summers now with no issues. Best mod I've done, and would never go back. Not familiar with a phone app.

The inside of the barrels is not a smooth surface anyway like a body panel. It has slight groves in it. If there were any slight scratches, no one would ever see them.
