I just bought a 406 SBC - Owner said I could have the option of 2 carbs. #1 Holley 850 (gas) with mods, he said carbs works well or #2 a Quick Fuel 750 Alcohol carb - he said this motor runs 2/10's...

I got a 3.08 out of my 76 - have no issues at all with it - I'd be interested in a swap. I have no rear cover - I used it on my other diff.

I wish I had taken pics of the intake before the build. The divider is removed with 1/4 inch left at bottom. The small remaining part has been sharpened to an edge I guessing with a dremmel tool.

Thanks all - I actually started in the middle - using the silver springs from the Mr. Gasket #929G kit. All in by 2700 and the car really came alive. Gonna just leave it there and enjoy this thing.

Can't speak for other companies but I have a Dewitts Alum w/ dual fans and I really like it. Exact fit, easy to wire, looks good, but most of all - it works.

I have the same cam XE268H, idles at 650 and very good off idle performance. I do have 3.70 gear with a 200R4 trans/2400 converter - that makes a big difference.
