Wow... I log in the next day and my fellow vette owners want to put me in prison.

I guess I didn't realize that a lot of people had not heard of the big Shell Gas debacle that happened at the end...

Want to get rid of your buggy Fuel Gauge?

Just go back in time to the end of May, fill up with tainted Shell gas, and have them pay for the replacement fuel sender unit (both of them).
The adjuster handed over a check for $1,200 !!!

Re: Selling the C3, bought a C5 (2TONE82)

Hehe, yes, this is a good way to do it and ensures CVO - constant vette ownership. :)

You know, I bought the '78 for two reasons.
The first was the obvious one... I wanted a vette.
The second...

Re: For Sale: Great '78 Project Car - $5000 (Marc78)

Man, with everyone on the forum telling me to keep both vettes,
somebody better buy this thing before I change my mind!
I just went outside and sat in it and took in that 'new leather and carpet'...

Re: Selling the C3, bought a C5 (Fast81)

BELIEVE ME... if I had the room, I would!
But alas, no garage. Only a carport for one vette.

Re: Selling the C3, bought a C5 (Corey 68)

Selling the C3, bought a C5

Well, the planets aligned and my wife told me I should just sell the '78 and get a C5 so I could stop working on it and start driving.

So, I did! Got a sweet '01 6-speed Navy Blue Metallic Vert,...

Re: Looking for either '98 Purple or '98-'2000 Navy Blue Convertible (joeking)

Yea, I know... pretty hard. But if I'm gonna get one, might as well get the one that I want :)

BTW, I just realized that Navy Blue was stupidly rare in '98, so I'm updating my year request to '99...

Looking for either '98 Purple or '98-'2000 Navy Blue Convertible

My first dreamcar choice is a '98 Medium Pearl Purple convertible 6-speed with black ragtop and black interior. (with below options)

But, since so few were produced, my next choice would be...

Re: Undercoating - keep or clean? (noskillz)

I guess I don't mind having it there... it can't hurt.
Just gets pretty messy when I get under there.
Plus, its real hard to keep things (tools, myself) clean when doing something like re-threading...

Re: Put my vette on E-bay.... Good start (noskillz)

I agree with you, noskillz. The Ebay system is flawed.
The reserve price and the last minute sniping just don't make sense.

Re: I'm back! (comp)

Well, actually, I bought a new batt - but it didn't die from sitting around all that time. It was actually dead in Feb because of a slow drain somewhere in the car. I've got a Zip disconnect switch...
