Here is a tip. Install 3/8 nuts on the shift linmage rods. When you are happy with the linkage adjustments, use the nuts as jam nuts to keep the linkage arms from twisting.

What is your intake vacuum?
I was wondering if they have your idle speed and timing set high to get better intake vacuum with that much cam duration.

Just aheads up. I talked to a Guy that relocated here from Texas. To regester his Truck they had him pay sales tax on the book value. I am not sure how long he owned his truck before...

The best shifter for that 69 is a Competition Plus # 391-7992. It has a bend in the shift lever which allow clearence of the console for reverse. Make sure you use the correct linkage...
