Don't try and knock them out from rear to front.. On my engine there was a ridge to stop the dowels from being driven in too far. I don't know if all engines are the same, but don't take a chance.

Thanks for the heads up on that tool shown in the pictures. I got one from Performance Tool, part# W83022 Worked perfectly and didn't damage the boots.

Found one!!! BTW, instead of using machine screws, I used studs. I believe they are #10-24. Makes for a one man installation.

I'm pretty sure the AIM is wrong. If the rod went in from behind, the rod would bind on the door panel. This is how I did mine. Right or wrong it works fine.

I'm pretty sure, not positive, that the vent window needs to be removed to get the regulator off. This picture I took, many years ago, shows the regulator behind the vent window frame.
