I had quite the same issue in 2001: it was an ECM issue, going worse and worse over time. I eventually found a new 94 ecm and the lt5 has been more than fine since then...

I would definitely go for the 94 as it is 12 years old compared to 15, and because its low production number makes it a rarer one
