I just went out and measured the opening on my master cylinder and it is just a touch over three inches. The adaptor cap fits just right. I am not sure why yours is larger.

64 and non-power 65 used the same round master cylinder. Motive model#101 will work for you.

Even if the plastic breaks, you can somtimes repair it. I repaired mine 3 years ago with a bit of JB Weld. Still working like new, and the $120 just went into somthing else on the car.
