If you are uncertain, I would do a multi location VIN check to verify that it is a legit Z06. The VIN's are in several locations on the car. Dash, door sill, frame and engine just to name a few.

I don't know if both are supposed to be on or not, but mine are not. The center console one is always hot, but the dash one is on with the ignition. I have a 2007 Z06.
