Thanks Bob! She really only needs to be sanded, painted, and have some trim replaced. Beyond that she's good to go. I work 70 hours a week and just don't have the time or place to be a paint shop)

If you haven't lifted the rotor out before it started running bad, then never mind, but start googling top dead center. There's a nice tutorial done by MSD on YouTube.

With the wire plugged in, the timing advance will vary depending on what info the ECU receives.

I still maintain that you need to find top dead center and find the proper rotor tooth location....

The "extrusion" off the side of the dizzy should be at a 90* angle to your plenum.

I had the same problem in my '86. The distributor rotor had skipped (i put it back wrong) back by one tooth.

We have a winner, the wires must have faded with time as they are now pink and white, however the plug went into the bottom of the wiper motor without issue, thanks again everyone.

Are stripped. Do I have any options or am I going to need new headers? I can't lift the engine, so if there are any ways to swap them without doing so, I'd love to hear it.

I could be wrong, but I thought the exhaust flange was a metal on metal ball and cup connnection, no gasket. Flange doesnt look warped.
