thank you, the block is a 3970014 casting, and the heads are 993's. the 4bbl intake casting I researched and 2623751 is for the L48 in 72

kinda loose is expected, you have to think, an engine wears, everything is getting loose, and will be worn in after about 500-700 miles, you shouldn't be alarmed, when I built my 427 after the break...

and you have to remember that you are now running...

and you have to remember that you are now running HEI, the timing will be higher VS the old points style. 70LQ4 is right, ide set it 10-12 degrees and see how it likes it
