Well I'm officially getting old....
I went from having a firebreathing Big Block with side exhaust that while sounded glorious, I could not carry a conversation at speed nor hear the radio. I now have a modern engine that still has the same side exhaust it's so quite at a red light I have to check my gauges and also able to hear the radio at 80mph. Now when I nail the throttle it gets LOUD, I actually like the quietness at times....best of both worlds.
I never thought I'd be "Over the Hill" at 35....

I use to have a shirt that said :
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, STILL PLAYING WITH CARS.
Your never too old for a big block. I installed my big block in my 76 when I just turned 47. If its too loud turn down your hearing aid is the way I see it.

I never wear my hearing aids in my Corvette...there is no point...
56 years old, and my small block with side pipes wakes up the neighborhood when I leave in the mornings. The noise doesn't bother me though...radio??? This car has a radio???

Give it 10 more yrs. My reactions and night vision have gone to hell pisses me off. Driving slower these days
Still like the loudness of mine at WOT but sometimes wish it were quieter all around;always liked sleepy cars though.
Enjoy that thing while you got the facilities to do so, beat er good!

Ain't none of us getting any younger, I'll tell you that.
And the official point at which you know you're getting old, is when you catch yourself saying "Goddamn kids these days....." Happened to me about ten years ago.

I've always had loud cars. The first time I was requested (ordered) not to park in the subterranean parking garage of the apartment complex was in 1966.
