Our trip last week to Crater Lake we got 22mpg in the 62. The 90 TPI motor and 6 speed may have helped with that however. ;)

Are you sure your crate 305 water pump wasn't intended for a serpentine belt system? I assume you're running a std V-belt, which turns the pump the opposite direction.
