I'm sure there's a blacksmiths forum out there somewhere, where they lament all day about why no-one builds there own tools anymore.

    Good morning Russ,

I ordered my epoxy primer from Barry this morning. I am very much excited but willing to wait for warmer weather. Thank you for all your help and expertise. Will be sending you and Barry pic's once I get started.

    Morning Russ,
I just got off the phone with Barry and he wants the car done to the glass and then spray the epoxy. He suggested using a da sander with 80 and 150 grit. I told him I did the car with 220 and then 320. He said if I shoot it over the paint it could bubble. Did you strip the red 64 done to glass or did you shoot over it? My paint guy said no need to strip.

Hope you didn't write me off yet. I just finished putting five new windows in the house and finished sheetrock. Next it will be mud and vinyl siding. tonight was the first time I could sit next to the car and write a list of things to fix but it will happen soon. Hope everything is well with you

My Neighbor's house caught on fire a month ago and I started putting in the windows that were back ordered, so I am side tracked on the project. I started to work with the oaks sticks and it sure works. Thanks. Marty

Russ, thank you for the care package. I was about to buy some of them expensive blocks. I am sanding for a second time with 320 grit. Next it will be the epoxy primer and then more block sanding (twice) and then the primer will be applied. Should I be using your method all thru the process of sanding or just when the primer is applied. Thank you so much for being in my corner. Marty

You have set my mind at ease. It has about 8 spots where I went down to the glass but it is as smooth as the rest of the car. Man it's smooth. Can't wait to get it's first coat of epoxy so I can start sanding all over again and again. Your car looks great and thanks for helping me out.

Russ, Need your advise. On some parts of the nose I sanded about a line of fiberglass but it is as slick as the rest of the car. Do I have to gel coat this area before epoxy primery or will the primary take care of it. No standing hairs on the area. thanks Marty

Hey Russ, I am getting really excited about painting my car. took the windshield out this morning. took me 20 minutes w/o breaking it. I read horror stories about it and was very cautious but it was a piece of cake. Sometimes I read way too many of the guys on the forum having issues but if you take your time it really is fun. Your really are the king on working your way thru problems. I remember your 4x4 tool on the 64. Hope your and your better half are doing well. talk to you soon and thanks for all the tips1

    Russ,

I don't know if you got my reply. The website wiped out my messages so here goes again. My car is running super. I have the normal stuff to do. battery tray, glove box light and new wipers. I am going to Sarasota FLA to see my brother and he has a couple of private classic car museums to visit. Glad you found the problem. I put bigger tires and its much better. PS my brother loves C1 & C2 vettes.
    Take care my Friend,

    Marty
