"One Adam 12....one Adam 12.... Domestic altercation at corvette judging meet at Woodland Hills Park. Possible restamp on a 427/435. Proceed with caution...backup available. Time out 14:20."
RIP Mr Milner. I was too young to remember Route 66, but Adam 12? Oh yea.

RIP.....I have the whole Route 66 series on DVD, and never missed an episode of Adam 12. By all accounts a very humble and down-to-earth guy. George Maharis is still around, though, at age 87......

Loved Milner and all his work except "Thirteen Ghosts"; I was aghast when he played a bad guy in such a spooky movie (remember I was a kid at the time)...
I hate that some of these icons from the early (to me anyway) days of TV are passing on...

We were invited with the '61 to an event about Route 66. Martin Milner was one of the featured speakers along with Michael Wallis who wrote an excellent book on Route 66. I'm not much into celebrities but talked with them after the proceedings were over and Martin Milner signed my Corvette hat. He seemed like a very nice guy and it was interesting hearing first hand about the filming the show especially when they were just getting started.

Little wonder Chevy provided two free Corvettes for filming (and more for the stars' and some production execs' personal use for next to nothing). They were getting a LOOONG and highly rated Corvette commercial on network prime time every week, plus re-runs!

That is sad news indeed. like many others, my love of Corvettes began with Rt. 66. we also have the dvd set, and I'm betting we watch an episode tonight in memory of.

When I was a teenager (early 80's) I worked at a 24 hour gas station in Del Mar (north San Diego county). He used to regularly drive in and fill up his car at 6am when no one else was around. No, it wasn't a Vette - I seem to recall it was a Jaguar. Chatted with him a few times - seemed like a nice guy. Sorry to hear this.

Route 66 started my love affair with Corvettes, I was about seven when the show aired.
My goal was to have a Corvette when i turned seventeen. I worked & saved and pulled it off buying a 59 for a whopping 850.00. I've been thru a few since then.
Finally getting a 62 in 1975.
I'll be thinking of Martin the next ride.

RIP Martin Milner. I loved that show when I was a kid. I think it had a lot to do with me getting into Vettes. The plate on my 61 reads: ROUT.66.

Sorry to hear of his passing, FYI both Route 66 and Adam 12 are on Hulu.
My fawn 62 came with a big framed pic of him and George sitting on their '62, still have it hanging in my office.
Check out this site for some great pics and info on the filming of the show.
