If you decide on the taller valve covers you will have to drill the bosses for the breather and pcv. It isn't a big deal if you let a machinist do the drilling. You will have to use baffled grommets...

I have one mounted in my console and you can see the shift flash even in daylight with peripheral vision. I would prefer to have it mounted in a pillar gauge pod but it seems no one makes one....

It could be a half shaft u-joint. My 81 made more of a squeaking noise at low speeds but seemed to go away upon acceleration.

I don't think they offered the extensions when I bought these about 3 + yrs ago. Seems they have added engraving, and inlays also. I might look into the gas pedal H/T extension. :thumbs:
