IMHO I would take a look under the valvecover(s) first.

If there is sludge I would continue with conventional and do several short oil change intervals before switching to synthetic.

OD unit in my -86 makes whining noise and I have another unit going in this winter. I like the 4+3 setup but have been considering replacing the whole transmission package with something like TKO.

US fasteners are available in Europe but they are usually specialized shops. I don't know if the fasteners you need are special or std UNC/UNF stuff but in Germany that stuff is available for example...

Several specialized shops here available. At least one of them gets weekly flight containers from USA ie. if I order today I have just about anything home from overseas...

I'd say yours need to comply with their 80's emission regulations but they were easy back then. For example my -86 does not need cats in Finland.

Sound regulations in Germany for cars and bikes...

Assuming the car is good working condition I would put on a set of affordable decent headers and a true dual exhaust with hi-flo cats and have a ball. :cheers:

My ironhead -86 has 230 hp and late-86 with aluheads has 235 IIRC so yes, hp figures are model year dependent.

I think you should study Super Rod article from February 2005 (?) called "Ten Times The Torque". There were several intakes for TPI compared. Too bad I cannot find it anywhere now.
